The North Star Music department hit it out of the park with Electrophonic this year. Every year they spend a very large amount of time planning this show, lasting for most of the first semester and beginning of the second. According to many of the music veterans performing, this year’s show is their favorite they’ve been a part of. Senior Nathan Johnson said, “The show feels like it goes by a lot faster than past years. It is a little shorter but it’s also just really engaging, all of the songs go by really quick.”
Johnson also expanded on what Electrophonic means to him, “I’m really going to miss doing this show, probably my favorite part about being a part of the band. I even missed my last North Star soccer game to play in Electrophonic this year.” Johnson has been on the soccer team for all four years of high school, really shows his dedication to this show and the band. The theme for the 2024 show is British invasion. The set list includes only songs by British artists and bands or songs that have something to do with Great Britain. Some notable bands with songs played this year are Queen, One Direction, and of course, The Beatles. Electrophonic includes performances by the band, orchestra, choir, and color guard. The show is fun for all ages and usually has a little bit of something for everyone.
The shows are Thursday, May 2nd and Friday, May 3rd at 7:00 pm in the LNS auditorium, so if you missed the show last night don’t worry, there’s one more opportunity to see the show tonight. Don’t be late, tickets sell very fast.
