“Staying True To Your New Year’s Resolutions All Year Long.”

With March just starting, many people are already throwing out the resolutions they wrote onto a piece of paper at the end of December.

The term ‘resolutions are meant to be broken’ is one many people use to justify why they’re not trying anymore.

Although you can improve your life every day of the year, January 1 is the day known to bring a fresh new start. It’s the new year and you have the whole world at your fingertips. If you didn’t write down your goals and future aspirations for the new year by December, or if you let the start to the new year pass you by yet again, don’t lose hope. That doesn’t mean it’s too late to figure out what you want to accomplish in 2017.

Health is the biggest aspect of the new year that most people try to better themselves at. Everyone wants to be fit, everyone wants to eat healthy and feel good about themselves, but it’s only the people who stick by their goals who are really going to see any change.

“My New Year’s resolution is to get in shape for basic training for the army,” said senior Samantha Ugarcina.

“My goal to keep it up is to work out as much as I can and lay off of the pizza rolls” senior Hannah Ferguson said. “I’m going to drink more water and I’m also going to take my dog on more walks, which will in turn help me take more walks.”

Senior Jenna Tederman said, “I don’t really have any specific resolutions. I just know that I want to get healthier and eat better food.”

Health isn’t the only thing people try to improve on for the upcoming year. Many seniors are getting ready to go to college and will have to adjust to being in a whole new place.

“My resolutions are definitely to get this whole college thing worked out. I’m excited, but nervous at the same time,” said senior Tori Osborne.

“I’m going to go out and find things to buy for my dorm room, very pinterest-like,” said senior Harlie Davis.

Then there are also resolutions that aren’t life changing, but simply make people happy.

“I really want to take more photos this year,” said junior Tera Hunt.

“I just want to be more confident in myself. New year, new attitude,” said junior Taylor Yaussi.

There are millions of different goals in the journals of millions of different people, but what makes them anything at all is the action applied to them.

If you had a rough break this February, it’s not too late to fight March just as hard, to help get you back on track. If you have been doing good with you resolutions, keep it up. The reward will feel so good once you know you’ve tackled all of your goals.
