In January, there was a buzz of excitement when new donut shop Krispy Kreme opened.
It is located at approximately 60th and O Streets, near Gateway Mall, so it is equal distance from all parts of Lincoln.
It has seen quite a bit of business in just this past month and has decent hours that are convenient average working person.
I went a couple days after they opened, because I didn’t want to have to deal with all the hustle and bustle of opening day. I can’t tell you about their specialty donuts, because when visited I got two dozen of their famous glazed donuts.
When entering the store, patrons can see a giant glass wall that encloses a conveyor belt of glazed donuts being formed, fried, and glazed. Their rating online is 5 out of 5 stars for their products and service.
I personally prefer Krispy Kreme over LaMar’s donuts, however LaMar’s has a little more variety and their donuts are huge.
At this time, the O Street location is the only Krispy Kreme in Lincoln. Dunkin’ Donuts now has three locations across the city. While they also have donuts and coffee, Dunkin’ also has breakfast sandwiches and bakery sandwiches that are good all day long.
