Everyday Hairstyles

It’s second semester and all of us are starting to sleep in the mornings, leaving us less time to get ready. For girls, it’s really a struggle to look great and still get your eight hours. It’s time to start thinking about hairstyles that can be done in minutes, while still looking well put together.

Buns are quick and usually so easy, anyone can do one. Messy buns have been the “in thing” for awhile; it’s good to remember in most cases the messier, the better. For a messy bun make sure you always have plenty of bobby pins and ponytails, the amount needed will depend on the length and style of your hair.

Sock buns have also become a huge hairstyle for all ages. You can hand-make your “donut bun” yourself with an old sock or buy one at a local Walmart or drugstore.

Loose and wavy curls are very popular in the world of hair right now. The YOU Curl by Conair is a perfect tool to create these waves. You won’t even need to use an excessive amount of hairspray because that will cause crunchy hair and that is exactly what you don’t want with loose curls.

You want your hair to flow, it’s okay if your hair loses a bit of curl throughout the day. Depending on how well your hair holds curl, they will even stay in overnight which will definitely cut down your time spent in front of the mirror in the mornings.

Ponytails can sometimes look super bland and boring, but you can spice them up by teasing the top of your head, or adding a little bit of curl. At any height, low, medium, or high, you can make a ponytail work as long as you add a little something else to it.

A reverse braid, starting from the top of your neck and going up leading into a ponytail, is sure to turn heads, even on your laziest By BRIANNA SCHOONOVER Gator Galaxy Staff day. Wrapping hair around the base of your ponytail can also give your ponytail a fancier look.

Braids can also be added to any of these hairstyles to add more to it. At first, many braids can be a little intimidating to learn, but they are just something you have to get used to. Fishtail braids, french braids, or just the simple three-strand braid are all a fashion statement and could look good with any outfit. Braids are almost an “if all else fails” hairstyle, because even on a bad hair day, your hair can look great in a braid.

All of these quick and easy styles can be found in a tutorial on YouTube. These may require a bit of practice to see what works on your hair and what doesn’t because everyones’ hair is different. Sometimes these styles don’t work out the first time, practice makes perfect. Once you figure out what is best for your hair your morning stress will go down and you can rest easy knowing your hair doesn’t look a hot mess anymore.
