Everyone knows the Kardashians and Jenners. They’re all over social media. There’s always a story on them in magazines and articles. But one of the Jenner’s has completely taken on a successful business. It’s had a huge impact on the makeup industry as well. Nineteen-year-old Kylie Jenner has created her very own cosmetic line called, Kylie Cosmetics.
Kylie launched her business in 2016 and started out with a lip kit that included a lip liner and a liquid lipstick. The first colors that came out were Candy K, Dulce K, and True Brown K. The first time she launched her kits, her website crashed within a minute. Kylie’s lip kits were instantly sold out.
Kylie promotes her cosmetic line on many social media websites. Her Instagram, Twitter, Kylie Cosmetics’ Instagram, and her Snapchat. She even has her own app. Kylie posts previews of her newest releases mostly on Snapchat and her app. With over 79.2 million followers on Instagram, none of her new cosmetics go unnoticed.
Many people love Kylie and her products.
Sophomore Jillian Gillispie said, “I think it’s very blessful. Beautiful, beautiful woman is what she is. Everyone should get one.”
Since her lip kits have been released, Kylie has also expanded her cosmetics line. She now has eyeshadow palettes, eyeliners, even her own makeup bags. She now has 24 lip kits and with the holidays coming around, there are many new editions. Her holiday editions have diamond powder infused within the products. They also have limited edition silver packaging.
According to Kylie’s website, Kyliecosmetics.com, her products are not tested on animals and are all vegan.
Some students think Kylie Jenner is inspiring to other young women..
Junior Alex Wesslund said, “Kylie is a very self motivated and dedicated person. She knows what she wanted to do and she set out and did it, and her business has grown since then.”
According to Kyliecosmetics.com, Kylie has been dreaming about this for two years, and now her dream has become a reality. What lies ahead for her and her company is a mystery, but her dreams can only grow, and so can her company. Her lip kits are around $29-$30, her single liquid lipsticks are around 14-$17, her eyeliners are $26, her eyeshadow palettes are $42, and her creme shadows are $20. There are mixed reviews about them, but it’s always good to try new things.
