Looking for something to do on those days where there feels like there is nothing to do? According to TripAdvisor LLC, there are approximately 63 attractions in Lincoln Nebraska, to help you find your way out of boredom.

Lincoln has many museums to visit. We all know about the Lincoln Children’s Museum, Sheldon Art Gallery, and the University of Nebraska State Museum, but there is also the Museum of American Speed, which is a museum dedicated to preserving artifacts of american automotive history. There is also International Quilt Study Center and Museum, which is the largest known public collection of quilts in the world. Another one is  National Museum of Roller Skating, which is roller skating, Next there is the American Historical Society of Germans From Russia Museum and Library which helps you learn about the history of germans and their society. Lastly there is the Frank H. Woods Telephone Pioneer Museum, which has a goal of educating the general public about the history of the telephone history, to name a few. The museums are good places to learn history, have fun, or even just have a day out of the house.

Lincoln also has many other attractions like parks, restaurants, theatres, stores, lakes, libraries, exhibits, malls, bowling alleys, spas, and sports complexes. All you have to do is find out places and come up with unique ideas of what to do and go for it. This is the easiest way of finding fun things to do, be creative.

A few parks are Roper, Trago, and Bethany Park. These parks are the most popular, and bring the most people in to hangout.

Some of the restaurants you could go to are Cheddars, Olive Garden, Chili’s. Some unique places to eat are Ivanna Cone, Lazlo’s, or Honest Abe’s. A few of the theatres are The Grande, which is in downtown Lincoln, or Southpointe theatre, which is located in Southpointe mall.

There is Spikes Sport Complex, or Sun Valley Lanes bowling, or salon Avalon there are a variety all different kinds of things. Some of the sports complexes have bars inside, so minors can still go and eat and play sports, they just can’t go to the bar. A few of those bars are Spikes bar and Grill,Risky’s sports bar and grill, Sportscasters Bar and Grill, and Rosie’s Sports bar and grill. Some of their rules are that you can sit in the restaurant you just can’t sit  at the bar and have a drink.

Trevor Rowland (10) said, “I like to go downtown to restaurants, like, Wings and Rings, or I go to the the movie theatre, or really anything in the downtown area, and just hangout with friends, because there is a lot to do and most of the things down there are fun to do.”

Lauren Geerts (11) said, “I like the summer time, and going to Branched Oak Lake with my friends. I go boating, tanning, and just swim around in the water.”

Some activities may be seasonal, but the good thing is every season has something.

During the winter there is ice skating in the Haymarket and in the summer there is swimming at any of Lincoln’s outdoor pools. Last summer, Star City Shores got a makeover with new slides and a new play structure that includes a huge bucket that tips and dumps the water on the structure’s roof.
