Clown Invasion?

Clown Invasion?

As if the world hasn’t been crazy enough lately, now, for some, the childhood fear of clowns is back as teens.

It seems a clown invasion has come to our country, and now Lincoln.

Popular Twitter accounts post videos from users and their experience seeing these clowns. So far, no clown encounter has turned violent. Clowns have been found in the cornfields of Des Moines to the trailer parks of Pennsylvania.

Numerous clowns have been arrested throughout the country, being charged with reckless behavior and disturbing the peace.

Recently in the Lincoln area, an Instagram account belonging to “Boho The Clown” was found to be started by a 14-year-old female student at Norris High School. According to an article in the Lincoln Journal Star, the girl was cited for disturbing the peace and the school was taking disciplinary action.

But don’t believe everything you hear. Rumors have surfaced everywhere that clowns are being seen and schools have gone into lockdown as a result. There has been no evidence to prove these rumors are true.

The Lincoln Police Department recommends you do not approach anyone dressed suspiciously in a clown costume and contact the police. This could be complicated by the fact that Halloween is quickly approaching.
