BLACK FRIDAY

By Kyler Johnson/Gator Galaxy Staff

Thanksgiving is next week, which means Black Friday is too. In recent years, many stores have been receiving backlash for opening on Thanksgiving Day and not on the actual date of Black Friday.

Some stores have changed it up this year, however most major retailers like Walmart, Target and Best Buy are all continuing to open on Thanksgiving to make sure you can get the deals you want and they can make the most money.

On average Americans spend over $59.1 billion according to Bloomberg. To break it down by person, each person spends over $400. One of the hottest items every year are flat screen TVs and new video game consoles, such as the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.

Walmart always blows it out of the park when it comes to deals each and every year. They are also one of the retailers that opens as early as 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Walmart has a one-hour guarantee on many items in the store, meaning that all items will be in-stock for at least an hour otherwise you can get a raincheck. They’ll also be handing out wristbands for big ticket items such as gaming consoles and TVs, which have a limited stock. Some of Walmart’s more sought after deals include:

  • 40″ Emerson LED 1080P TV for only $149
  • 32″ Samsung LED 1080P Smart TV for only $198
  • 15.6″ HP Laptop customized with Windows 10 for $199
  • PlayStation 4 Uncharted Bundle for $299

Best Buy opens even earlier than Walmart this year at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving. They have a lot of amazing deals this year, which is why some people have already started camping outside their local Best Buy stores around the U.S. Best Buy is offering:
