You may have noticed some empty space at the end of your schedule this fall. Students will no longer have teacher advocates from their academy. The reason behind the change is because advocates would only see their advises once a month, your teachers see you everyday. Teachers will be an advocate for all their students. So now you can go to your teacher through out the day instead of seeing your advocate once a month. It will be a lot easier on the students and the teachers.
Some of us also have new counselors. The counselors were changed so families could be together. All the same last names are together and so are the siblings and cousins. This will make it easier for counselors and parents, so they don’t have to jump from student to student and counselor to counselor.
If you have been making plans for the GDE testing time, your plans are ruined. The administration has decided that if you need to test, you will be placed in a class specifically for the GDE testing. The tests will then be administered during that class, instead of taking time off during the school day. Look on the bright side, there’s still early out Tuesdays and Academy day!
