North Star Friday night lights are back in action. On Friday, Sept. 1, the Gators took on north-side rival the Rockets of Northeast.

The hallways of North Star were full of excitement leading up to the game. Creative informational posters and announcements were displayed around the school.

Football players, cheerleaders, Dazzlers, coaches, and student managers dressed out in their uniforms and North Star gear showing support on game day.

Northeast prepares for their game days very similar to North Star. Christine Phan, a senior Northeast Star Strutter, said, “ We prep for the games in a lot of social media ways rather than in the school. We often have posters hung up around the school wishing the players good luck and letting the students know when and where the games are. We all wear our uniforms and the players wear their jerseys and it’s a sense of unity within the school, seeing everyone come together for something, such as football games.”

For the first home game, the Gator student section was loud and proud showing school spirit decked out in the Red Out theme.

The Dazzlers put on a wonderful pregame and halftime performance followed by our band showing off their musical talents.

The cheerleaders kept the spirit alive and pumped up the crowd. Even throwing up stunts for an interactive cheer.

Overall, the Gators played their hearts out. It showed on and off the field. The Gators can’t wait until the next Friday night lights.
