Halfway Through and Staying Strong

With the boys basketball team beginning their season with a near 500 record, Coach Tony Quattrocchi still keeps a positive attitude and high expectations.”Play harder than the opponent, execute, and good communication essentially being ahead and winning the game,” Coach Q said. Connor Musiel (11) agreed with Coach Q. “Its really nice to have everyone play together as a team, and to have everyone know their roles.” Musiel said.

With the boys determined to make it to state ‘back to back to back,’ their motivation is at it’s highest. This is senior Maurice Moore’s first and last year as a post, and he was eager to take on the roll. ”It was hard with it being my first year, but after awhile I figured out my role as a senior.”

Nate Tederman (11) thinks having the seniors on the team really makes it North Star basketball. He said, “We do think that seniors provide our team with leadership both on and off the court. Losing them next year will definitely be tough.” This year the bar was set high for North Star’s varsity basketball team.

They had a lot of pressure on them to win the HAC tournament for the second year in a row, they came up short and got 3rd place. Coach Q keeps up the pace, and gets the team pointed in the right direction to get another win.

The Gators take on the Burke Bulldogs tonight in the Swamp. Girls varsity tip-off is at 5:45 p.m. and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
