Escape to Homecoming

Adrenaline High, Feet Down Low

NNew year, another Hoco, same Gator pride. The North Star Homecoming Dance has been the annual event everyone looks towards to kickstart the new school year. Even after an unfortunate loss at our homecoming game against Elkhorn South, the energy could not be dampened.  After a long month of constant studying and lectures, the Gators were able to come together and see each other transition from sweatpants and crocs by day, to party dress and tie by night. The 2025 Homecoming had the theme of “Escape to Rio” and as the movie says, “welcome to the jungle…. of fun!” Friday night boasted the highest student turnout ever recorded in Homecoming history,  and every attendee was ready to have fun;  whether it was taking pics with your friends in the photobooth, slowdancing with your partner, jumping to the song FEIN!, or even crowdsurfing in the mosh pit.

The nerves were taking over for all the kings and queens, consisting of freshmen Lily Rosales and Sergio Hosey-Alvarez, sophomores Owen Wiltshire and Lila Kildow,  juniors Kobe Allen and Addi Brooks, and seniors Hadley Kerner and Marcus Wynne. Senior homecoming king, Marcus Wynne, confessed his adrenaline was high with the surprise nomination and the even more surprising win, but it still didn’t beat his favorite moment of the night; nupe strolling with his friends Eldin Ramulic (12) and Larry Fosung (12) in the middle of the dance circle. Clammy hands, sweaty feet, and spectacular moves; all part of the 2025 North Star Homecoming. This year will be tough to beat but we sure will have fun trying in next year’s homecoming, one dance move at a time.
