As the school year begins academics, athletics, and clubs start to gear up. One being the most prominent, Student Council. Student Council is held every day during eighth period. The Student Council students work on tons of school related projects such as Homecoming, Prom, Pep Rallies, and more. This year’s Student Council looks a little different than the past few years. This year all thirty Student Council students return for the first semester of the year joining them two new sponsors, Ms. Chab and Ms. Kutscher.

Ms. Chab and Ms. Kutscher aren’t new to North Star, that’s for sure. With Ms. Chab being a North Star alumni, teacher, and Key Club sponsor where as Ms. Kutscher being a teacher and the varsity cheer coach for the past five years. When asked what it’s like being a sponsor for Student Council they say “Being a former gator it’s amazing being the person encouraging involvement throughout school” (Chab) and “I love being involved throughout North Star it allows me to meet more people and do more things” (Kutscher). With both sponsors being involved in various other things at North Star it can be hard to manage. But when asked how it’s different from their other commitments at North Star they say, “It’s fun watching all of the students do the leading throughout Student Council” (Kutscher) and, “It’s definitely different but in a great way” (Chab). 

With so much experience here at North Star it’s no doubt these two won’t lead Student Council to even more success. They both state they plan to, “Get more students involved at North Star with lots of help from the Student Council students.” So as the year goes on they plan to implement new and great things for the North Star community. So keep an eye out as the year goes!
