A New Arena: What Students Can Expect

The Pinnacle Bank Arena opens September 13, 2013 for its first concert starring Michael Bublé, Bublé is the first among many artists to perform at the new arena.  Multiple favorites are also scheduled to perform from the well known 80’s band, The EAGLES, to pop sensation, P!nk. The concerts scheduled are good for children, teens, and adults with music of both the past and present. Not only does the new arena look to host singer/songwriters, but also chefs, comedians, sporting events and rent-able space for Husker football tailgating.

As soon as the Husker Red ‘N’ went up on the side of the Arena it was clear Lincoln’s new project would soon open; with the opening of the Pinnacle Bank Arena, many basketball fans will now see themselves trekking their way to it rather than the Bob Devany Sports Center. Basketball fans are revving up in excitement to see the new home of the University of Nebraska Lincoln Basketball team. Though it is a tradition to watch the game in the Bob Devany Sports Center, the change to the Arena will provide fans with more seating and a new, refreshing environment.

The Arena is among a 344 million dollar Haymarket redevelopment project that was very controversial within the city of Lincoln along with residents throughout the state, The project includes an open air roof deck, glass encased wall, and spectacular views of both the State Capitol and Memorial Stadium. Ticket sales will boost Lincoln’s economy and tourism, and provide an exciting and diverse environment for people of all ages. Hotels, restaurants, and places to shop are flocking to Lincoln’s Haymarket for the opportunity of prime property to rent or lease near the Arena.

The whole arena has a capacity of 14,620 people for concerts, but that varies depending on the type of event. The Arena is perfect for the population in the city of Lincoln and will bring some exciting energy to the capital city. Private suites may be rented for groups or premium seats may be purchased to “enhance” your experience for each event. Tickets for any event can be purchased via ticketmaster.com and the Pinnacle Bank Arena box-office that opens Monday, August 19, 2013.
