Swimming Prepares for Conference

By Sarah Wetzel

As the swimming season quickly comes to an end, the North Star swim team can say they’ve had a strong year. Records have been broken and goals have been reached, yet the Gators are still striving for more in conference and state.

At the start of every season, the returning Gator swimmers set marks for themselves. Whether they are improving a time in an event or improving their technique, they strive to complete their ambitions throughout the whole season.

Senior Quincy Koll said, “The team as a whole is doing great. We’ve set numerous new records and everyone’s getting closer and closer to reaching state times each day. The boys also hit a record in the dual meets for the year.”

State and conference are slowly approaching and the Gator swim team has already gone into preparation for it. “I feel as if we’ll do well at conference. We know what we have to improve on and what we can accomplish if we do fix what we need to,” said Jenny Moon (11).

The North Star boys also have a tradition to uphold as conference comes nearer. “All the boys are excited to shave their heads for conference. We do it every year and this year will be no different,” Koll said.

The swim season has gone well for all the swimmers so far and they all hope for a strong finishing. With improved time and broken records under their belts, the Gator swimmers are excited for what’s coming.

In the time being, they’ll keep practicing to get better in hopes of doing well in state and at conference.
