American Horror Story Back for More

American Horror Story season six premiered on Sept. 14. While this year’s theme was top secret, it’s now officially been titled “My Roanoke Horror Story.”

This season is set up like a documentary and follows the life of people who lived there, but it’s all just a reenactment of what truly happened.

In episode one, you follow the lives of Shelby Miller, played by Lily Rabe and reenacted by Sarah Paulson, who are show veterans, and the life of Matt Miller, played by André Holland and reenacted by Cuba Gooding Jr., who are both newbies this season.

They used to live in the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles, but after an attack that left Matt hospitalized and caused Shelby’s miscarriage, Matt decided it was time to move away from the city and into the country of North Carolina where he grew up. The two ended up bidding almost all of their savings on a deserted house that some mysterious old townsmen wanted really badly. Once they got the house, they soon found out it came with some hidden secrets.

Other actors and actresses returning this season include Evan Peters, Lady Gaga, Denis O’Hare (who plays Dr. Elias Cunningham), Wes Bentley, Angela Bassett (who reenacts the part of Lee), Cheyenne Jackson, Kathy Bates, and Finn Wittrock. Since the season just started, many of the characters have yet to be revealed .

This definitely beats the past two seasons, which were “Freak Show” and “Hotel.” There is something about this season that is extra demented and spooky. There have been multiple times where viewers have jumped while watching the show. Viewers definitely have to expect the unexpected. Director Ryan Murphy has done a great job putting this season together and adding that extra scare factor.

So far, the viewership is a little lower this season, compared to last year, but that’s only temporary, because this season is going to be amazing.
