On Monday, Nov. 16, winter sports officially began at North Star. Basketball, one of the most popular amongst North Star students, had a big turnout.

Freshmen basketball coach Eric Eickhoff said, “We had a good amount of kids at tryouts the first day. A lot more than last year.”

Another popular sport s is wrestling. Freshman Noah Nevitt said, “This is my first time ever wrestling. I like it so far. It will help me stay in shape for football too.”

The swim and dive team has been hard at it as well. Junior Morgan Edwards said, “We have practice at 6 a.m. and then right after school. It really is a challenge, but also great knowing we are getting better each day. We’ll see the difference time and time again.”
