American Horror Story Starts Fifth Season

By Taylor Louthan/Gator Galaxy Staff

FX’s widely watched Emmy and Golden Globe winning TV show American Horror Story began  their fifth season “Hotel” on Oct. 7.

Actress Jessica Lange was replaced by singer/songwriter Lady Gaga. This is Gaga’s first television show, where she stars as the Countess. Other familiar faces this season are Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, and Sarah Paulson.

FX recently renewed American Horror Story for a 6th season. Previous seasons were Murder House, Asylum, Coven, and Freak Show.

“Hotel” is different from any other season, with a twisting plot and scenes that leave viewers on their  toes Unlike previous seasons, this one is based on  a place, rather than a group of people.

The plot of this season is based on “Hotel Cortez,” located in downtown Los Angeles that was purchased by a New York Fashion designer.  Breaking from it’s normal anthological format, Hotel will interconnect with its first season, Murder House.

You can find “Hotel” Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. on Time Warner channel 61, Dish channel 136, and Direct TV channel 248.
