North Star faced their biggest rival of the season on Friday night when they took on the Southwest Silverhawks at Seacrest Field. The Gators knew going into the game that they shouldn’t take Southwest lightly.
Junior Braden Dey said, “We took this week of practice and made everyday like game day. It was one of the most impressive weeks of practice we’ve had.”
The Gators fought hard for four quarters, with impressive tackling, and a fourth quarter blocked punt by Dey.
In the end, the boys fell to Southwest 21-13. Many seniors felt as if it was the last game they would play as a Navigator, but after other game results came to light around the district, the Gators found a way to make it to state.
The Gator football team will take on top-ranked Bellevue West (9-0) on Friday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. in Bellevue.
