The Boys Tennis team is going into the season with nothing but positive energy from every team member. “We practiced hard for weeks during the summer,” said JV player Derek Mikus (10). The team said the season will be tough, but they are hoping for nothing but success.
The Varsity team begins their season at an invitational against Papillion-La Vista South on Saturday, Aug. 31. Varsity member Alex Puentes (12) is expecting a 2nd or 3rd place ranking at the end of the invite. The team has many returning tennis players, but also lots of new faces, including sophomores Braydon Cox, Derek Mikus, Triston Simpson, and Ethan Wobken. Puentes referred to all members of the team as family as they work day after day to improve individually and as a team. He is also “really excited” to see where the season ends up.
